We are a factory specialising in manufacturing equipment. In the past, we have collaborated with many industry designers in mainland China. I can’t say they were not good, but something was wanting somehow. I guess that’s to do with the difference in the way they think. We got to know PONG through a Hong Kong friend. At the beginning I worried that there might be some communication issue. After all, face-to-face meetings are often more efficient.

But as it turned out, my misgivings were not necessary. PONG was highly efficient and quick at work. They would promptly come up with something after we told them about an idea or asked them to make some changes. Unlike many designers in mainland China, PONG was very keen to understand our products.

Leo went all the way from Hong Kong to our supplier’s factory that produces prototypes, in order to get an understanding of our craftsmanship and incorporate that into his designs. Our team detected notable differences between mainland designs and his designs when we saw his final design draft, which was characterised by a unique design language. The actual product was not much different from the draft.

On the whole, we are very happy with PONG’s design and service and we look forward to collaborating with them again.

The products we manufacture are related to people’s day-to-day life. We strive to bring fresh and unique designs through our cooking ware so that design becomes part of people’s life.

We got on well with Pong’s Leo from day one. Our first impression of Leo was that he was passionate about design. He talked about not just work but also entertainment, lifestyle and design. He often met our team so that both sides could get to know each other.

He listened to our needs and views intently. He would also conduct market research, check out different shops and gather market information.

He was eager to understand us. He would visit our factory to learn about our craftsmanship and techniques, talk to our technicians and strike a balance between design and craftsmanship.

He is worldly, with experience working with famous brands, hence his market-savvy approach and the international elements and style of his designs.

He strives for pragmatism, attaching importance to both aesthetics and practicality for the end user.
